Biography

Nathaniel Hlimi

Mini bio

  • When he was a child, Nathaniel wanted to become an inventor, but he was better at drawing than at doing maths ... His teachers naturally recommended him to an art school, where he learned to invent stories, and above everything else, to find creative ways to tell them. Graduated from the Fine Arts School in 2009, he directed clips using stop-motion and worked as an art director (for Nike, Leboncoin, Peugeot ...) in parallel. In 2013, Nathaniel started to travel around the world with his paintbrushes and his sketch books. He lived in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Australia, and focused on sketching and exploring. Two years later, he came back to France, decided to draw stories. This passion for travels inspired his series of drawings, Bivouac, as well as his illustrations for the magazine Long cours. In 2016, he won a France television call for projects with Clémence Madeleine-Perdrillat and co-directed his first animated film : My Life in Versailles, a 26 minutes short. This film's success encouraged Nathaniel and Clémence to pursue their adventure by directing a 5x16'' episodes series, now in development.
