Chandini Tamilarasan is an Indian actress working primarily in Tamil and Telugu cinema, with a growing presence in television. She grew up in Nungambakkam, Chennai, in a bi-cultural household with a Tamil father, Tamilarasan, and Telugu mother, Padmanjali, an upbringing that would later facilitate her crossover appeal in South Indian film industries. Her formal education included schooling at Sacred Heart Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Chennai and subsequent graduation from Ethiraj College for Women, where she balanced academics with early interests in performance and modeling. At seventeen, she competed in the Miss Chennai 2007 pageant, though she did not place in the finals; the experience nonetheless sharpened her comfort with public presentation. Her breakthrough came in 2009 when she appeared on a Tamil reality television program, catching the attention of veteran director K. Bhagyaraj, whose office contacted her for a screen test. That audition proved successful and opened the door to professional acting.

Chandini made her film debut opposite Shanthnoo Bhagyaraj in Siddhu +2 (2010), directed by K. Bhagyaraj himself. While the film received modest commercial and critical reception upon its delayed December release, it established her as a credible lead actress in Tamil cinema. Over the following years, she built a diverse portfolio across Tamil and Telugu projects, demonstrating adaptability in genre and role type. Her Tamil work includes Vil Ambu (2016), Nayyapudai (2016), Kannula Kaasa Kattappa (2016), Ennodu Vilayadu (2017), Kavan (2017), Mannar Vagaiyara (2018), and Raja Ranguski (2018), with Kavan becoming one of her more recognized titles. In 2019 alone, she appeared in three releases: Pettikadai, Kadhal Munnetra Kazhagam, and Naan Avalai Sandhitha Pothu, showcasing her work ethic and willingness to maintain an active production schedule. Her Telugu filmography features Kiraak (2014), Lovers (2014), and Chitram Bhalare Vichiram (2016), allowing her to engage with a broader regional audience. Transitioning into television, she debuted with the serial Thaazhampoo before being cast in Rettai Roja, where she replaced actress Shivani Narayanan as the female lead.
