Zachary David Sumpolec, professionally credited as Zack Sumpolec and also known as ZVCK DAVID, is a Washington DC based director, cinematographer, and producer building a cinematic universe between music and film for his brand ZVCK DAVID.
Originally from Virginia, Zack began his creative career playing bass in bands before transitioning into filmmaking. Soon after completing Radio and Television Broadcasting in high school, he met his mentor Simon Kim through Film Connection, a Los Angeles based film apprenticeship program. He the apprenticed under Kim at House Studios in Washington DC, where he received certification in Film Production and began developing his visual storytelling style.
His work as a filmmaker earned him recognition as OCTFME Filmmaker of the Month in December 2019.
As a Director of Photography, Zack has shot feature films including The Available Wife, Holiday Heartbreak, and the award winning short film Four Points. His directorial work includes the short films Drug Town Girl and Hurricane, blending narrative filmmaking with the sonic world he creates as an artist.
In addition to independent film work, his production experience includes projects connected to major brands and organizations such as Comedy Central, NBC, Google, Red Bull, Toyota, ESPN, Under Armour, Westfield, and Tanger Outlets and many more.
Alongside his filmmaking career Zack releases music under the name ZVCK DAVID, blending modern alternative music with cinematic storytelling through visual singles including Mad, Drug Town Girl, Bonfire, Cold, and From Me.
He currently works in broadcast television as a Steadicam operator while producing creative work under Monument Entertainment Company.
