Andreas Wank was born on 18 February 1988 in Halle, Germany. He is a professional ski jumper, one of the tallest competitor on the World Tour. Since his childhood years he was fascinated with the sport. Wank reached 3rd position in the Schülercup in the overall standings. He also came 3rd at the Germany overall standings. During the National Championships in 2002, Wank won a silver medal in the team event. In 2003, he returned to compete at a junior level. That year Andreas Wank became the Junior Vice Champion and once more was 3rd in the German overall standings. Since 2004, Andreas Wank participated in the Continental Cup. In Rovaniemi, he achieved his first podium, a 3rd place. During the 2004-2005 Four Hills Tournament in Obersdorf, Wank came at 45th place in his first jump in the highest ski-series. He became the German Junior Champion in singles. At the German Senior Championships, Wank finished 6th in the overall. In 2007 he graduated from the sports school in Oberhof, where he resides. That very same year, Wank won a gold medal with team at the German Championships. In February 2008 he won the singles at the Junior World Championships in Zakopane. A few days later Wank the title with the team. In March the same year he enrolled at the University of Ansbach to study international management in a special program, designed for top athletes. Making two jumps of 135 meters and 139 meters in front of Michael Neumayer and Michael Uhrmann, on 19 July 2009 Wank won the individual competition of the German Championship in ski jumping in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. During the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver he won a silver medal with the team. At the 2012 Ski Flying Championships in Vikersund, Andreas Wank won a silver medal with the team. The same year he achieved his personal best jump of 211m in Vikersund. The following year at the 2013 World Championships in Val di Fiemme, Wank won a silver medal in the team large hill event. But the highlight in his career was still yet to come. It happened in the Olympic Games, the second one in his career in 2014 in Sochi. Andreas Wank won a gold medal in the team large hill event alongside his compatriots 'Severin Freund', Marinus Kraus and Andreas Wellinger. Since the huge success from the Olympics, Andreas Wank managed a second place in the team event on 22 February 2016 in Kuopio.

Won 2 Olympic medals both in the Team Large Hill event - a gold in 2014 in Sochi and a silver in 2010 in Vancouver.

Graduated from a sports school in 2007. In March 2008 enrolled at the University of Ansbach to study international management in a program that has been adapted to the HS Anspach and designed specifically for top athletes.

Won the silver medal in the team competition in 2002 in the German Championships.

In 2003 started again in junior ranking and became German Vice-Junior Champion. In addition, he again reached 3rd Place in the overall standings of the Germany Cup.

On 27 February 2008 placed 1st in Zakopane in the Junior World Champion in singles, the biggest success of his career.

Earned 3rd place in the overall standings of the Germany Cup in 2001.

Began his ski jumping career at an early age. At only 12 years old, was the 2000 German Masters students.

Previous best finish in an individual jump, which he reached in the summer Grand Prix on 3 October 2009 in Klingenthal, was the 7th place.

In 2007, won the gold medal with the team at the German Championships.

At the German Senior Championships, finished 6th overall in 2005.

On 19 July 2009 won the individual competition of the German championship in ski jumping in Garmisch-Partenkirchen with complete surprise jumps of 135 meters and 139 meters in front of Michael Neumayer and Michael Uhrmann.

From 2004, started in the Continental Cup and achieved in his second jump in Rovaniemi, with his first podium place 3.

In the season 2008-2009 he first belonged to the A-national squad for the World Cup ski jumping. In the end, reached the 59th place in the World Cup overall standings.

Was in the National Group for World Cup jumping in Oberstdorf in the Four Hills Tournament 2004-2005. In his first jump in the highest ski-series, reached 45th place.

Is a ski jumper who competes at World Cup level.

His personal best jump is 211 m in Vikersund in 2012.
