Biography

Jimmy Hughes was born on February 3, 1938 in Temecula, California, USA. He is known for Cat People (1982), The Deuce (2017) and Independent Lens (1999). He died on May 20, 2026 in Leighton, Alabama, USA.

Rhythm and blues singer.

By the early 70s as the hits stopped, he retired from the music business on his own terms and he reportedly limited his singing to church from that time on, while taking a job in the nuclear power industry.

Began singing in a gospel quartet called The Singing Clouds.
