Fani Skartouli

Fani Skartouli is an internationally focused Greek film producer whose career is uniquely bolstered by a background in law. Before entering the film industry, she studied law and practiced with prominent firms in Brussels, Paris, and Athens, specializing in Intellectual Property, Employment, and EU law. This legal expertise has provided her with a robust foundation for navigating the complexities of international film financing and production. She transitioned into cinema in 2016 and quickly gained recognition on the festival circuit. Her early production credits include the short films Postcards from the End of the World (2019) and Mom's Movie (2019), the latter of which premiered at the Locarno Film Festival in 2019. Skartouli has since become a key collaborator for high-profile international productions filming in Greece, holding significant roles on projects such as the Netflix thriller Beckett (2021) and Maggie Gyllenhaal's critically acclaimed The Lost Daughter (2021). Her experience also extends to major studio work, having collaborated with the Walt Disney Company on a feature for Disney+. A graduate of several prestigious industry programs, Skartouli is an alumna of Berlinale Talents, the Rotterdam Lab, and the EAVE Producers Workshop. These programs have helped shape her interest in hybrid formats, new distribution models, and women's empowerment within the industry. She is currently developing the feature film Glory B, alongside other upcoming projects including the short film Anorthodoxos (2023) and a new work written by the Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Efthimis Filippou.
