Biography

Himjyoti Talukdar is an independent filmmaker and scriptwriter from Assam who gained recognition with his directorial debut Calendar (2018), which was warmly received by audiences. His second Assamese feature film, Taarikh, released in theatres in August 2025, earned widespread appreciation from both viewers and critics, and was featured at several renowned film festivals across India. His upcoming projects include an Assamese feature film adapted from Moromor Deuta, a celebrated novel by the eminent Assamese author Dr. Bhabendra Nath Saikia.
