Biography

  • Luke Lowrey was born in Boulder City, Nevada to a military family. His father is of Scottish Irish descent and his mother is of French-Cajun heritage. He grew up in the country outside of Memphis, Tennessee, until graduating high school when he moved to Abington, Virginia to work at the Barter Theatre. After dropping out of Belhaven Univeristy after a semester, Luke studied ballet in Chicago before joining the Broadway tour of CATS, Movin' Out, and eventually performing with Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas. After a life-changing hip injury and surgery forced Luke to quit dancing entirely, Luke refocused his efforts to acting and began acting class in New York.

Luke worked as a stand-up comedian and comedy writer, performing in New York's top clubs including Broadway Comedy Club and New York Comedy Club. He landed a job as Lisa Lampanelli's Opening Act, writer, and tour manager for two years.

Some recent credits include a co star in American Horror Story:1984, a recurring lead in the pilot presentation Big Top acting alongside Lou Ferrigno Jr, a co star role in Red Bird Lane starring Susan Sarandon, and a supporting role in the film The Choice, starring Francis Fisher. His 2016 film My Story swept the festival circuit, available to stream on Amazon Prime, and chronicles the remorse of former white-nationalist dealing with his transgressions of his younger life before he dies.

Luke is hitting the small screen again next in the Gritty Dystopian Sci Fi 8 part thriller series RZR that dropped at ComicCon 2023, starring Mena Suvari and Danny Trejo. Luke plays the Russian Soldier who amidst worldwide nuclear fallout fights the show's protagonist to his own bloody death.

Luke lives with his fiancé, non binary actor Damian Terriquez, and their three dogs. Luke and Damian work closely with the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, the TransLatina Coalition, as well as other trans-empowerment organizations. Luke speaks Russian and French, and is learning Spanish.
