Biography

Trey Riley is an American director & writer based in the Charlotte, NC area. Trey has been crafting films primarily as a writer & director, for almost a decade.

Under his production company, Set Apart Productions, Trey has directed 7 short films & 2 features, he has worked as a producer and/or assistant director (AD) on 7 short film projects & 1 feature and also has been a producer/AD on an episodic series.

His long term goals are to solely direct and producer feature films and eventually finance, quality, young artists' film projects.

Often features nods to Christopher Nolan films in his own films, as Nolan is his inspiration as a film maker.

He likes to start stories and end them in similar ways, giving the audience a sense of completion.

Will often times end films open ended to allow the audience the ability to think about what the outcome of the story may be, instead of just telling them.

The idea of time is fascinating to him; trying often to break out of the standard chronological order of storytelling by using flashbacks, parallel story arcs & dreams.

Trey actually has a degree in Civil Engineering. Yet, he has always been drawn to film; his main interests include writing & directing.

People are complicated and difficult, but love...love is pure and easy.
