Iris studied at UCLA for a Bachelor of Arts in Theater in the Ray Bolger Musical Theater Program. She is a trained actor, singer, and dancer. Her passions beyond theater include American Sign Language, songwriting, piano, and guitar.

Born in San Diego, CA, she grew up in Murrieta, California. She later moved to Los Angeles to attend the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, where she received a BA and a minor in Music Industry from the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music. She is a vocalist, songwriter, and accessibility rights advocate, and holds a California State Seal of Biliteracy in American Sign Language.
