Reid grew up in Auckland, New Zealand. He was a gymnast for seventeen years and represented NZ. He then completed a commerce degree at the University of Auckland, before moving to Australia and attending drama school at Actors Centre of Australia. He has written, directed, and acted in and multiple projects.
