Biography

Lamont Fountain

Mini bio

  • Lamont Fountain was born January 18, 1974 with a twin sister in the Wynnefield section of Philadelphia to parents James and Donna Fountain. Being the middle child of five siblings, and the middle of three boys, Lamont found himself learning how to do certain things independently. He had a natural talent for art and painting at an early age, and was encouraged by his art teacher in elementary school to pursue and develop it further. But it was when he was ten years old that he discovered music by playing his grandfather's piano. Lamont also eventually taught himself how to play guitar and drums and became a music producer, working with mega producers like Scott Storch, Vidal Davis and Andre Harris. He produced a local hip hop group who would tour with the Roots, and he wrote and produced music for the hit CBS show "Hack".

His love for film stemmed from his childhood, his mother loved going to the movies and instilled a love of cinema in her children, taking Lamont and his siblings to the movies often. In 2005 he began studying film and visual literacy, researching psychology and the language of film for a documentary about religious cults he was making.

In 2011 he was hired to create all of the media for startup organic fertilizer company Envirokure, which consisted of three corporate promotional videos, logo and promotional literature, working closely with the firm's executives, which helped the company procure over $1 million from investors.

In 2015 he directed and edited the music video/short for James Knight "Abandoned" which won "Best Music Video" awards at the Ocktober Film Festival and the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival.
