Shivangi Joshi is an Indian actress. She is one of the leading and highest-paid actresses in Indian television. With her shows Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (2009) cited as number number 1 shows across all channels. Making her a household name beyond the country's shores.

Shivangi, while playing this positive lead/protagonist (Naira) portrayed a larger than life, ideal, cultured and family oriented Indian woman who was an inspiration for millions of Indians as a daughter, wife, daughter-in-law, friend, sister, mother and a business woman. She was awarded many times times for various categories in the span of 6 years.

After proving her commitment as an actor and making a benchmark she decided to explore her depths. She proved her self in the stream of reality TV as she finished at 12th place in the Indian version of Fear Factor called Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi (2008), the show rated as the top reality show in the country.

She was about to make her Cannes debut with the short film Love X Society (2021), but due to the coronavirus, the film was later released in the OTT platform.

[Describing her career choices before acting] I always wanted to be a choreographer and if not a choreographer then the other alternative career that I had in mind was to be a doctor because I was good at studies. I have always been very focused in life and I knew what I wanted to do.

[Her thoughts on pay parity] There are many shows where I am paid better than my male co-star. I believe things are slowly changing when it comes to pay parity.

[Her opinions on bold scenes] Everything depends on the project, the script&#39;s requirements, and how comfortable I feel performing certain scenes on camera. But I have set some personal boundaries and I am not willing to cross them at this point in my career.

[on what she enjoys watching] Romantic comedies are always my go-to as an audience member. However, I also watch the latest releases whenever I have time-to learn and for entertainment.

[on staying grounded despite success] A lot contributes to it. Apart from my parents&#39; teachings, I think it also has to do with a person&#39;s vision and personality-how they perceive things. Their willpower and decision-making shape who they are.

[About her fan base] They mean the world to me-they are like a blessing.

[What inspires her] A lot of things inspire me, but people and family would be at the top of that list.

[on her dream role] I believe the aim should be to turn every role into a dream role, but action films have always intrigued me. I would love to do some punching and kicking in a hardcore action film-or maybe a superhero film with a lot of action scenes.
