- Saurav Rai is an alumnus of the Satyajit Ray Film and T.V Institute, with specialization in Film Direction & Screenplay Writing. His diploma film 'Gudh/Nest' was the official selection at the 69th Cannes Cinefondation (2016).
Saurav believes in simplicity, takes inspirations from life, incidents, events and ultimately forms a gaze, which leads to an inception for his new engagement.
Nimtoh, his debut feature film had its international premiere at the Rotterdam International Film Festival, 2020 in Bright Future Main Programme. It also won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2019 Jio Mami Film Festival for Screenwriting. Nimtoh was the closing film of the 34th Images Festival, Canada in 2020.
Guras, his sophomore feature world premiere in the Proxima Competition at the 57th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, 2023 at the Czech Republic. The film won the coveted Special Jury Prize in the Karlovy Vary IFF. The film just had it's Asia Premiere in the 27th Busan International Film Festival,2023.
