- Originally from Bakersfield, California, Jeni Magaña (also known under her solo project performer name Magana) is an LA-based multi-instrumentalist, photographer, songwriter, and composer.
She received her degree in music studies from Berklee College in Boston, Massachusetts, and has since toured and recorded with artists including Ella Vos, Lady Lamb, Dropkick Murphys, Lucy Dacus, Laura Cortese & The Dance Cards, and Tim Minchin.
Magaña began touring with Mitski in 2018 and has since appeared on television shows like "Austin City Limits" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," as well as in the concert film "Mitski: The Land." Touring internationally, she has performed with Mitski at festivals like Pitchfork Music Festival, Glastonbury, Boston Calling, and Primavera Sound. Magaña also contributed to the recording of Mitski's "Spotify Singles" in 2024 and to 2026's "Nothing's About to Happen to Me" album.
She began her Magana solo project in 2016 and has since released music through the Audio Antihero, Beanie Tapes, Hand Drawn Hand, and Softseed Music record labels. As a solo artist, she has performed with Pom Pom Squad and Deep Sea Diver, as well as at the 2024 O+ Festival.
Magaña is also one half of pen pin, a pop duo she formed with fellow Mitski and Ella Vos bandmate, Emily Moore.
