Alexis-Marie Chin was born in the twin island republic of Trinidad and Tobago and is of Chinese-Portuguese descent. As a child, Alexis loved watching movies over and over until she memorized every line and performed them in front of her family.

After graduating Boston University with a degree in Business Management and Administration, Alexis decided to give acting a try and moved to Vancouver, BC where she attended formal training for film and television. In 2019, she briefly returned to Trinidad where she began to take an interest in directing and producing commercials whilst navigating through a pandemic. She won an Addy Award from the American Advertising Foundation for her first ever commercial and directorial debut for Rizzoni's Ristorante Italiano.

Aside from her previously mentioned roles in the film production world, Alexis is also known for her work as an Assistant Director in Toronto and is a member of the Directors Guild of Canada. She likes to keep things exciting by jumping from directing to producing to assistant directing whenever possible.

She is a PADI certified Scuba Diver and prefers to be underwater rather than on land most days.
