Biography

Liliana Mele is an Italian actress known for her performances in various acclaimed films and television series. She has gained attention for her roles in both national and international productions.

Liliana made her film debut in 2004 under the direction of Carlo Verdone marking the beginning of a versatile career. Her credits include the HBO/BBC historical drama Rome and the international hit series The Sea Beyond (Mare Fuori). Throughout her career, she has collaborated with distinguished directors including Steve Shill, Michele Placido, and Giovanni Veronesi. Most recently, she appeared in the British-Italian miniseries Signora Volpe, starring alongside Emilia Fox and Tara Fitzgerald.

Born in Gondar, Ethiopia, to an Italian father and an Ethiopian mother, Liliana spent her early years between Sudan and Ethiopia. This multicultural background allowed her to learn Arabic, Amharic, and English before moving to Rome at the age of six, where she grew up and Italian became her primary language. She earned a degree in Literature, Music, and Performing Arts from "La Sapienza" University in Rome. Her professional training includes international experiences at the Lee Strasberg Institute in Los Angeles and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London.
