Andrew Ian Pope is a Queensland-based actor, writer, and director known for his dynamic work both on screen and on the page. His career spans award-winning short films and groundbreaking features with roles ranging from concept design, story-boarding and fight choreography through to lead roles alongside well established Australian actors. Most recently, Andrew featured in Netflix's "Boy Swallows Universe" and stars in the upcoming feature film "Double or Nothing" soon to be released in Australian cinemas.
As a storyteller, Andrew wrote and starred in the gritty gangster short Dog Eat Dog, which received multiple Best Film awards and an Audience Choice award at festivals. He has multiple feature screenplays in various stages of production and runs a 'Character Creation' writing and performing workshop for his fellow actors. He also runs a weekly Drama class for people with intellectual impairments.
Andrew's passion for filmmaking goes beyond acting-he is heavily involved in various stages of production, with several feature films in development, spanning genres from medieval absurdist comedy to sci-fi space westerns.
