Adam is an English actor born 23 July 1986 in Portsmouth and grew up in Gosport, Hampshire to parents Janet Simmonds and David Brown. Best known for his roles in Lucy Brydon's BAFTA Scotland nominated feature Body of Water and in James Gray's The Lost City of Z.

Adam's work includes ThatFilmFestival finalist, Blue Room, directed by BAFTA winning, Kate Cheeseman and Blue Monday, a social realism drama about sectioning and mental health in the 80’s, where he was the recipient of Best Actor at the Feel the Reel International Film Festival for his role as Thomas, a sufferer of grief induced psychosis.

Adam is also a filmmaker, making his screenwriting and directorial debuts with his short, Vulnerable - an autobiographical film exploring the long lasting effects of child grooming into adulthood - doing very well across the festival circuit; picking up a host of awards including Best Acting for his performance as George as well as Best First time Filmmaker awards.

Onstage, Adam was the first actor to play Barnaby Rudge in a full adaptation of the Dickens novel, Barnaby Rudge. Receiving high praise from the World Dickens Fellowship in the Dickensian for his portrayal of Barnaby. Adam also took on the titular role in David Copperfield, both of which were both staged at the Kings Theatre as part of Portsmouth's celebrations of Dickens Bicentenary. Adam played in the RSC’s King Lear with the late Anthony Sher and in the UK premier of Dead Man Walking with Joyce Didonato.
