- Asunción Carandell (Ton, as she was affectionately called by her late husband, the Spanish poet José Agustín Goytisolo, 1928-1999), is the sister of writers and journalists Luis Carandell (1929-2002) and Josep Maria Carandell (1934-2003). Her daughter Julia (Barcelona, 1956) was immortalized in the famous poem "Words for Julia" by J. A. Goytisolo.
