Son of painter Gaëtan de Rosnay (1912-1992) and of Russian aristocrat Natacha Koltchine, he is the son in law of lord Gladwyn Jebb and father of author Tatiana de Rosnay.
Biologist, author, consultant, he was one of the pioneers of surf in France and brother of adventurer Arnaud de Rosnay.
