- Marcello Luigi Foa (Milan, 30 September 1963) is an Italian journalist, business executive, blogger and writer with Swiss citizenship. From 26 September 2018 to 16 July 2021 he was president of Rai. Marcello Foa was born on 30 September 1963 in Milan, but grew up in Lugano. Belonging to a family of Jewish origin with a Greek mother of Orthodox religion, he declares himself a Catholic. He has dual Swiss and Italian citizenship. Graduated in political science from the University of Milan, he began his career in 1984 in Lugano, at the Gazzetta Ticinese, and then in 1987 at the Giornale del Popolo, two Ticino newspapers.
