Biography

Johnny Yates is a London based multi-instrumentalist composer for film, television, commercials, multimedia and stage. Growing up with an unhealthy obsession for sound and vision embracing drums and piano as my tools of expression. He's has worked on a host of television series, documentaries, film scores and commercials. Including Disney+ 'Masters of Love', Netflix & C4 'The Real Bling Ring: Hollywood Heist', Discovery+ 'Jared From Subway', Netflix '11M: Terror In Madrid' and including with a number of prestigious clients including C4 Formula 1, SailGP, Amazon Prime, Canal+, Santander, ITV, Sky, Movistar, Bentley Motors, McLaren, HSBC, 2015 James Bond 'Spectre' TV Spot, American Express, Rapha, SEGA, Decathlon, Lamborghini and more.

He attended the esteemed Creative Music Technology at Surrey University where he graduated with a postgraduate masters degree in 'Mmus Master Of Music' achieving a distinction in his specialised pathway 'Composition'.

He's performed piano and percussion for the Royal Opera House concerts and events including their development programme to accompany talented dancers, practitioners and upcoming talent. He also contributes as an associate lecturer at ThinkSpace Education Film Scoring School where he supports a collective group of upcoming talented composers around the world, helping them develop their skills in scoring to picture.
