  • Molly Smith is a filmmaker and writer from Orlando, FL. In 2021, she directed and edited the short film Lioness which has now screened at 13+ festivals including Deadcenter Film Festival, Soho Film Festival, and Chelsea Film Festival. Lioness won Best Director at Georgia Shorts Film Festival, Best Florida Film at Gasparilla Film Festival, and the Jury Award for Best Short at the Topaz Film Festival. Molly has directed over 17+ short films that have won national awards, including 2 wins and 7 nominations for the National Student Production Awards. Her short film, Dear America, received over 600k views online and won the National Coalition Against Censorship's Speak Truth to Power Award and Best Overall Film at Student Television Network in 2019. In 2020, she was named a Cameron Impact Scholar for her commitment to positive social change through filmmaking. In summer 2023, she was a show writing intern with Universal Creative. In addition to narrative and documentary film work, Molly has directed commercial content for Walmart, Meta, and Credit Karma. She attends Yale University studying American Studies and Spanish. She is represented by Adolescent Content.
