  • I. Royán is a composer, orchestrator and sound artist specialized in film music, concert music and music for video games and other media. She has composed, premiered and recorded solo music, chamber pieces and orchestral music, as well as electroacoustics creations. Focusing on audiovisual field, she has written music not only for films, short films and video games, but also for ballet, a book of fables, educational projects, video art, collections of paintings, web pages or corporate videos. In 2017, Royán has been honored as nominee for Best Original Music Creation (El Glóbulo de Bok) and Best Original Soundtrack for Short Film (La Verónica) at the Jerry Goldsmith Awards. In 2016, she was also a candidate at the Jerry Goldsmith Award, in the category of Best Original Soundtrack for Video Game (Paula The Game, Ikigai Gameworks). In addition, she was nominee for the 2017 PlaysStation Talents's Awards, being part of the team of Night & Day, a video game for PS4. Isabel Royán contributes also regularly to specialized publications and teaches Composition and Analysis in Manuel Carra Conservatory. As a rapporteur, she often speak about composition, analysis and multimedia composition as she collaborates with several entities. She has received specialized training in film scoring and music for video games in Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program (Seattle Film Institute, Washington), having Professor Hummie Mann as a mentor. She completed a Masters Degree in Composition for Films and Video Games (Centro Katarina Gurska) as well as a Masters Degree in Music Patrimony: Ethnomusicology and Flamenco (Universidad Internacional de Andalucía). She obtained Summa Cum Laude in both master's dissertations. Royán has also two Degrees in Composition (Conservatorio Superior de Música de Málaga) and Journalism, as well as a Professional Performer's Certificate in Piano. She has enhanced her professional profile by several courses about contemporary composition, composition for multimedia and audio implementation.
