Biography

Audrey Ismaël

Biography

  • Self-taught composer and songwriter Audrey Ismaël draws on her roots in Réunion Island for an instinctive sense of rhythm and polyrhythm that runs through her work. After co-founding the band Smoking Smoking (2011), she turned to film scoring, co-composing with Olivier Coursier the score for Vanessa Filho's Angel Face (Un Certain Regard, Cannes 2018). She has also scored several awarded series: Les Grands, Germinal, Vortex, Enchaînés before scoring Wild Diamond by Agathe Riedinger and The Kingdom by Julien Colonna (Cannes 2024), then Marmaille by Grégory Lucilly, shot in Réunion Island, which earned her the Révélation prize at the Les Arcs Film Festival. In 2025-2026, she scored A Place for Her by Melisa Godet and expanded internationally with Cronos (Fernando González Molina), Dua by Blerta Basholli (Cannes Critics' Week 2026).
