Biography

Shahnaz Rahmatullah was born on January 2, 1953 in Dacca, East Pakistan [now in Dhaka, Bangladesh]. She is known for Chhutir Phande (1990), Osru Diye Lekha (1972) and Binimoy (1970). She was married to Abul Bashar Rahmatullah. She died on March 23, 2019 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Shahnaz Rahmatullah is sister of prominent composer Anwar Parvez and noted actor and singer Zafar Iqbal.

Her first playback singing was for the film Notun Sur (1962), when she was only 11. This film was directed by Ehtesham and music was composed by acclaimed composer Robin Ghosh.
