Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Rafa Withingham studied Communication and Advertising. After several years of experience in the advertising industry, a chance invitation to a television set led him to discover the world of set design and to immerse himself fully in its creative process. That experience marked the beginning of a passion that would define his professional career: set design and art direction for the audiovisual industry.
With 26 years of experience in the audiovisual industry, Rafa finds in his craft the opportunity to create immersive worlds and build spaces capable of telling stories, defining characters, and evoking emotions through every detail.
He recently took on the responsibility of bringing Macondo to life as a set decorator for the Netflix adaptation of *One Hundred Years of Solitude*, one of the most significant projects of his career and an experience that reaffirmed his deep passion for the craft and for creating fictional worlds.
His extensive career includes work as a production designer on prominent national and international productions, among them the film *Dora in Search of the Golden Sun* (Paramount Pictures/TIS); the series *Narcos*, seasons 1, 2, and 3 (Netflix); *Sin Senos Sí Hay Paraíso* (Telemundo/TIS); the films *Sound of Freedom* (Angel Studios), *Shadow Force* (Lionsgate), and *Freelance* (AGC Studios); as well as the series *Operación Pacífico* (Telemundo/TIS) and *El Capo*, seasons 2 and 3 (FoxLatam/TIS).
In addition, he has participated in projects such as *Kdabra*, seasons 2 and 3 (FoxLatam), and *Lynch*, seasons 1 and 2 (Fox/Moviecity), among numerous fiction productions and reality shows developed over the course of more than two decades of his professional career.
