Biography

Missy Galanida

Mini bio

  • Missy Galanida was born in Washington D.C. and later graduated from Marymount University in Virginia where she double-majored in business and fashion. Her creativity paired with her strong business sense prompted her to make the major to move to Los Angeles in her early twenties. Missy began a preliminary position at Electra Records, was later moved to the PR sector and subsequently to the Video Department. After being recruited temporarily to work for Universal Music Group in a production based position, Missy then transitioned to Chris Blackwell's Island Records, where she wore multiple hats - including but not limited to; Manager of Creative Services and Commissioner.

Her most prominent career term was served working for David Naylor & Associates, where she worked her way up from Sales Representative, to Executive Producer and eventually - Vice President. During her time with DNA, she was also responsible for the launch and re-brand of the company's young talent sector, Artists & Derelicts, which was monumentally successful and served as the inspiration behind HOUND - her very own multimedia content powerhouse.

To date, Missy has also served as an executive producer on some of the most notable projects in music video history, such as Shakira's "Whenever, Wherever" (2009), Britney Spears's "Slave 4 U" (2009), My Chemical Romance's "My Helena (2009), Rihanna's "Work" (2016), Fifth Harmony's "Work From Home" (2016). Missy has also played an essential role in the highly prosperous careers of directors like Director X, Marc Webb, Frances Lawrence, Liz Friedlander and Rich Lee.

HOUND represents a diverse roster of talented directors such as Isaac Rentz, Jay Martin, Sarah McColgan, Aya Tanimura, Jaquel Knight and Dano Cerny - all of whom have made massive waves in both the music video and commercial world.
