A 1990s Art College graduate with a fascination for global affairs, he initially explored photojournalism. Experiencing the dysfunctionality of Zaire, a failed African state in civil war, he decided to join the British Army in the late 1990s.
Serving as an Infantry Officer over a 10-year career, his roles ranged from leading highly professional teams on complex military operations, to serving as Aide-de-Camp to a senior British General. He then transitioned to the Humanitarian Sector, managing sensitive multi-million-pound operations in conflict zones for a major humanitarian agency. These were fast-paced, high-pressure environments demanding professional rigour, people skills, a calm demeanour, and sound judgment.
Upon returning to the UK, he completed an MBA and briefly worked in the Financial Sector. Finding himself unable to connect with corporate culture and its politics, he switched to the UK Film & TV Industry in 2014.
Starting as a Marshal at the age of 39, he quickly identified strong parallels to his former careers, particularly within the Locations Department, and was invigorated by the industry's tempo and its people. Continuously striving to build knowledge and experience, he aspires to becoming one of the UK's leading Location Managers.
