Wearing different hats with a sense of passion and creativity, Zubaik , filmmaker, director, director of photography, editor and animator keeps discovering something new in form and meanings. Besides being a brilliant artist, Zubaik hails from Pakistan's emerging and utterly competitive Film & TV industry, its where putting hard-work and working with passion is the only way to be anywhere close to be amongst the distinguished.
Zubair Akhtar was born in 1982, in Karachi, Pakistan, and popularly earned a nickname for himself as 'Zubaik' coined by the industry's love for him. The trendy name holder Zubaik started his innings as an assistant video editor, who also had a charm for graphic design, dabbling in animations which saw him work for "Combine Media".
Subsequently, and to gain diverse experience, Zubaik worked with many different software production houses, he recollects his hard working days as days of utter challenges and competition, and while engaged with numerous production houses, TV channels , and years of hard work finally came to fruition when he launched his own production company. The company used to produce programmes for many TV channels in Pakistan including for a very renowned Pakistani TV channel "GEO Television Network".
Thereafter, Zubaik also travelled internationally to explore new film industries, film markets and meet new talent, he liked to prospect possibilities of working with a new team. Zubaik temporarily returned in 2009 to Pakistan to launch his own production house and this time harder professional work rewarded him a grand appreciation, he won the "Hum best tele film editor 2010" award, a great feather in the cap for Zubaik, and hunger to achieve continues even today
In 2011, new projects and prospects led Zubaik's to travel to the UAE and establish himself in the film, advertising and TV industry, Zubaik provides finest and dynamic services of a senior film editor, animator, director of photography, photographer, as director of various documentaries genre, corporate Industrial films and short films and much more.
Zubaik recently won "Sun & sand best short 2015" award for his film Translator of Light that he shot, edited, and directed as well . Zubaik also supported the international feature film "Malala" by making promotions for radio and TV media, Zubaik has helped accomplish several documentaries like Down Syndrome, Sharjah Cultural Documentary and many more.
With a period past him, that saw him learn and struggle with the best in the regional industry, Zubaik now sets his eyes on the wide canvas of international Cinema , and he believes with a firm resolve, that together with a great team , it's time to prospect an opportunity to direct cinema.
