Biography

Rj Montoya, is a Marine Combat Veteran turned independent film maker from Texas who served in the 2nd Battle for Fallujah 2004. In 2005, Rj, founded Empire Video an experimental, promotional company. Using his last name to identify himself, he assembled a production crew which, brought popularity to a social club in Downtown Dallas. Promoting this kind of venue taught Rj, about organizing a team, building an image, and learning to sell yourself as a serious business.

2005 worked professionally among celebrities while, filming interviews at several concert venues for Grammy Award Winning Producers Play & Skillz, and Pit Bull among others. He is proficient in Cinematography, Directing and Editing.

2012 won the 3rd Place Award at the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association Convention for "Out of Touch" a documentary on homeless life in Dallas, Texas.

2019 Cinematography on the Comedy Series "Damage Control" starring Daniel Baldwin with Andy Bowels available on Amazon Prime.

2023 "Sons of God : Fallen Angels Explored" co - Executive produced with Filmmaker, Larry Stanley, Now available on Apple Tv, Tubi, Stash Tv, Real Chill.

A documentary on the "Rapture" is slated for a 2023 Fall Release.

2023 Cinematography for the Award Winning Horror Film titled "Dungeon" Andy Bowles "Best Actor", Bare Bones International Film & Music Festival "Best Horror Thriller" New York International Film Festival "Best Experimental Film"

A Boxing Documentary is in Post Prodution with his Wife, Executive Producer Elena Montoya, a film 4 years in the making following an active boxer's life in and out of the sport.
