Biography

William S. Tribell was born in Frankfort, Kentucky, USA as William Stephen Tribell. He is a multimedia artist known for Dwellers (2021), The Evening Hour (2020), and his work with the EMMY winning The Dead Unknown (2015). An actor, writer, and director, his short film Girl in the Red Dress (2021) will debut at the 2020 Cannes Short Film Festival. While living in Budapest Hungary, his short film Budapest (2014) garnered worldwide attention, becoming an early catalyst in the still growing unrest against the curbed civil liberties, and limitations applied to artistic expression legislated by the Hungarian government. In Journalism, Tribell has had thousands of articles and photographs published, receiving a Lighthouse Media Award in 2015. He is a Pushcart Prize nominated poet, with nominations for Poet Laureate of Kentucky in 2017 and the East Tennessee Writers Hall of Fame in 2018. His collection of poetry, "A Duke's Mixture and a Hill of Beans" received sponsorship for submission to the Pulitzer Prize Nomination in Poetry for 2020 and was accepted. As a poet, he was featured in Poetry is Dead! (2015). William S. Tribell thinks sushi is great, and his favorite color is green.

He served as State Campaign Chair of Louisiana for US Senator Mike Gravel in the 2008 presidential election.

He lived in a flat above the Pirate's Alley bar in New Orleans French Quarter until Hurricane Katrina. He can be seen in the second episode of the 2007 television series Cobb's Webb (2007) in the Jackson Square scene. The bar featured in this episode and referred to as the Alibi is actually the Pirate's Alley bar at Jackson Square, and at the time of filming he was living above the real Alibi located on Iberville Steet.

He was living in the flat in Budapest, Hungary featured in the opening scene before the title sequence of the Edgar Allan Poe biopic The Raven (2012).

The "Bigfoot Body" featured in Anatomy of a Bigfoot Hoax (2011) wasn't examined by media until 2016 when he, with the approval of C. Thomas Biscardi, placed it on exhibit at the Bell County Historical Society Museum in Middlesboro KY, and allowed the Lexington Herald-Leader access.

He served as State Campaign Chair of Tennessee and as Senior Advisor to former United States Senator of Alaska, Mike Gravel in the 2020 US presidential election.
