Following graduation in 1996, he found an apartment in New York, did an internship, and then worked back and forth between New York and Florida doing film, television, and theater work.

At the end of 1998, he began a ten-year career, with the theatrical producing and general management firms of Cameron Mackintosh, Inc., and Alan Wasser Associates, during which time he worked as a part of a team that presented 20 Broadway shows. Following on the heels of that were the productions of Unmitigated Truth with Melvin Van Peebles, An Evening at the Carlyle, and National Pastime. In 2010, Jason returned to the stage playing the title role in Frost/Nixon in the first post-Broadway production of the show in New York City. That led to a series of films including The Hereafter Hotline (as Tom Hanks), Wild Nights with Emily (with Molly Shannon), Alt+erred, Betrayal of a Nation, and more.
