- Alireza Rabie Moghadam was born on October 22, 1991, in Arak, Iran. He studied Information Technology and Cinema and has directed four narrative short films, one documentary, and two music videos. His first short film, Vertigo, was selected for the Seattle International Film Festival in the United States. His second short film, The Crypt, was nominated for Best Experimental Film at the 60th Ager Film Festival and was also selected for the Tehran International Short Film Festival and the Image of the Year Festival. His fourth short film, Cadillac, was nominated for the Audience Award for Best Short Film at the 100 Film Festival and was subsequently selected for the Shiraz Regional Film Festival.
His debut music video, Shahrzad, won the Best Music Video award at the 9th San Francisco Iranian Film Festival in 2016. It was also nominated for Best Music Video at the 2nd International Film Festival of Shimla in India and selected for the 40th Atlanta Film Festival in the United States, an Academy Award-qualifying festival. In 2018, his music video Ashoob (Chaos) was nominated for Best Music Video at the 11th San Francisco Iranian Film Festival.
In 2019, following four years of research and study in Virtual Reality (VR), Rabie Moghadam created Astigmat, Iran's first Virtual Reality program. The project premiered at the 36th Tehran International Short Film Festival and was subsequently produced and released across three seasons in a fully immersive VR format.
After ten years of professional experience in filmmaking and advertising, he founded Alzaymer Studio in 2019 and continued developing his work in the advertising industry with greater focus.
Following a year of research into artificial intelligence technologies, Rabie Moghadam directed The Dream of Seven Wonders on March 28, 2023. Recognized as Iran's first AI short film, the film presents the Seven Wonders through the voice of an artificial intelligence, the creator of the film's own imagined universe. Following the project, he designed and produced more than fifty AI-driven videos across content production, promotional teasers, and film post-production, including editing, poster design, sound design, dubbing, and other creative applications.
In July 2024, Rabie Moghadam created the AI short film Recreating a Memorable Scene, revisiting the concept of Abbas Kiarostami's Shirin. The film features 24 Iranian and international actresses who did not appear in the original work. Its scenes were reconstructed 16 years after the release of Shirin, with close fidelity to the original text and purely as an artistic tribute, without any exploitative intent.
In addition to his professional work in filmmaking, Virtual Reality, and artificial intelligence, Rabie Moghadam has been active as a specialized instructor. In October 2023, he taught "AI Filmmaking" as part of the 20-40 Specialized Sessions at the 40th Tehran International Short Film Festival. In February 2024, he conducted the "Artificial Intelligence in Cinema" workshop during the Arak Fajr Film Festival. In July 2025, he led and taught the "AI in Post-Production" masterclass at the Iranian Youth Cinema Society's Arak Office, sharing his practical experience in editing, visual effects, and content creation using generative AI models.
He has also directed and led the AI design of five AI-powered promotional teasers. Regalora, which he directed and designed, was selected for Project Odyssey Season 2 and included among the selected works of that edition.
To date, Rabie Moghadam has worked as an AI artist and designer on five feature films and more than ten short films. He has also created more than 100 AI-driven videos across advertising, music videos, and professional cinematic content. His current focus is using artificial intelligence as a professional creative tool for visual concept development, cinematic storytelling, and the production of high-quality work for film, advertising, and digital media.
