Biography

Born in Florida, based out of Buffalo NY and Toronto CAN, Zander Metz attended boarding schools in Pottstown PA and St Catharines ON, as well as a semester abroad at Cambridge in England. His educational endeavors continued on at Brock University where Zander choose to study Film History and Film Theory. While at Brock, Zander and fellow classmates started their own film festival called Fright Night Brock Horror Film Festival, which is now part of their yearly student short films festivals. Amongst the other festivals at Brock, Zander has won both audience and critic awards for 4 of his films; Hitch, The Man Who Became Coffee, The Woods, and Take Me To Phung. In the 2015 Buffalo 48 Hour Film Festival Zander and his team won 3rd place with their submission Reconnect. Aside from short films, Zander has worked in the sound department as a boom operator, mixer, and sound utility for many professional films, TV and commercials. Films such as Two for One (2016), Trew Calling (2015), MTV: True Life (2016), and Johnny Gruesome (2017). Currently enrolled at the Weengushk Film Institute (2016/17), Zander has written, directed and produced his latest project titled I Slept with the Devil, an ode of sorts to the classic exploitation grindhouse films of the 1970's mixed with some supernatural elements.
