Biography

The brilliant director Hisham Sharbatji was born in March 2, 1948 in Damascus, Syria. He is considered one of the directors that influenced the Syrian Cinema in the past 25 years. After graduating from Cairo, Hisham had immediate success with works that people found amusing, entertaining, critical, and relating to people's daily issues and lives in the Arabic world. He directed "Aylet 5 Njoum", "Aylet 6 Njoum, and "Aylet 7 Njoum" in addition to "Maraya (84, 86, 88, 2006)" and "Tash Ma Tash (2009)". He is also known to have worked on other famous works such as "Yawmiyat Modir 'Am", "Jamil wa Hanaa", "Ayamna El-Helwa" and "Bokaat Daw (2005)".. etc.

His Daughter Rasha Sharbatji is also a director acknowledged for works of her own.

Received his Bachelor's degree from the Cairo Academy of Arts in Egypt.
