Drew Mackintosh(I)

Drew Mackintosh is an Austin-based screenwriter, producer, and entrepreneur whose work blends character-driven storytelling, humor, and themes of redemption, family, and second chances. Before entering the film industry, Mackintosh spent more than two decades in finance and investor relations, including roles on Wall Street and within the homebuilding industry. A CFA charterholder, he earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. Mackintosh made his feature-film debut as writer and producer of The Long Shot (2025), an independent comedy set against the backdrop of Austin's iconic municipal golf course. The film premiered at the Dallas International Film Festival before receiving a North American release through VMI Worldwide. Through his production company, Sandbagger Productions, he focuses on developing commercially oriented films that combine broad audience appeal with grounded emotional storytelling. His screenwriting often centers on flawed but relatable protagonists navigating life's unexpected challenges, drawing inspiration from his experiences in business, family life, and Texas culture. In addition to The Long Shot, Mackintosh has developed multiple feature projects spanning comedy, drama, and romantic comedy. When not writing or producing films, he advises publicly traded companies on investor relations and corporate communications. Based in Austin, Texas, Mackintosh continues to develop and produce independent film and television projects.
