Missy Mickens is a NAACP Image Award nominated costume designer whose work spans film, television, and theater. She's contributed to productions that have premiered at prestigious film festivals including Sundance, Tribeca, and Toronto. A native New Yorker, her designs can be seen in the 2026 NAACP Image Award winner for Outstanding Indie Film, Love, Brooklyn, the 2020 BAFTA Cymru award winning short, Salam, and the HBOMax series That Damn Michael Che S1. In theater, Missy served as an Assistant Costume Designer on Hamilton, showcasing her versatility across mediums. Her other film, TV and theater credits include Uncut Gems, Bruised, A Good Person, Slave Play, Saint X and Gotham. A consummate professional with a portfolio of diverse and stellar talent ranging from Oscar winners to Tony and Emmy award winners for both stage and screen. She's an active member of IATSE and the International Society of Black Costume Designers recognized for her creative vision and commitment to authentic storytelling.
