Melissa Montaleone was born in Michigan and raised in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Her first-generation Canadian-Italian father and American mother settled in Windsor, where Melissa's passion for performance began at an early age. She appeared in local productions with Riverfront Theatre Company from 2007 to 2010, and went on to star in lead roles in high school musicals including Grease (2012), Legally Blonde (2013), Hairspray (2014), and Bring It On: The Musical (2016).
At 16, Melissa signed with Fusion Talent Agency, launching her transition from stage to screen. In 2017, she was crowned Miss Tecumseh in her hometown pageant, which led her to compete in the Miss Universe Canada pageant.
Following high school, Melissa earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Windsor (2020), which included a semester abroad in Jönköping, Sweden, where she combined her nursing studies with continued theatre involvement. Professionally, she has worked as a labor and delivery nurse and in the neonatal intensive care unit.
Melissa continues to pursue her acting career, training at Toronto's LB Acting Studio and working in film across both Toronto and Michigan.
