Nadine Asmar is a Lebanese director and screenwriter. She holds a PhD in Film Studies from the University of Western Brittany, a Master's degree in Cinema and Audiovisual from Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne University, and a Bachelor's degree in Cinema and TV (Audiovisual) from the Lebanese University - Fine Arts Institute II.
She wrote and directed two award-winning short films, The Blind of the Cathedral (2015) and Perhaps Today (2017), and is in the post-production phase of her third short, The Experiment (2026). She is developing her fourth short film and her feature debut.
She gained experience by working in short and feature films including the two Academy Award® nominated Lebanese films, The Insult (2017) and Capernaum (2018), as well as The Sand Castle (2024), In This Darkness I See You, A Sad and Beautiful World (2025), and Only Rebels Win (2026) (in post-production).
Nadine is a co-founder of MovieTailor Pictures, a film production and distribution company based in Lebanon. As a producer, she has developed several projects, including the Pakistani short documentary, In Zainab's Heaven (2023), winner of 6 awards including the Special Jury Mention at Fribourg International Film Festival and Film SouthAsia 2024. She is also an alumna of Talents Beirut (Berlinale Talents), Beirut-Locarno Industry Academy International, and Impact Lab Lebanon/Syria.
