Steven Gekas

Born in Thessaloniki in 1994. Since he was eight years old, he knew he wanted to make films. He studied Film Directing and got his Bachelor's degree(2012-2015) from Queen Margaret University. So far, he's directed and written all of his short films. His films Point Blank, Van Draggers and Intellectual Tramps have all participated in Athens International film festival "Nyxtes Premieras". In 2017 he directed his first TVC for Diafano stores and finished his short film "Humphrey" which now has 4 awards, 6 nominations and 17 official selections in festivals including "Drama Film Festival", "Athens International Film Festival", "Los Angeles Greek Film Festival" , "Jaipur International Film Festival" and "Bogart Film Noir Competition". In April 2019, he attended a masterclass by Werner Herzog at Onassis foundation. Since September 2018, he's been a professor at Iek Akmi Institute in Athens, Greece teaching the "Technical Workshop" course in the Film Directing and Film editing department. He's currently on the distribution process of his latest short film "Father" while he has two upcoming projects, a short film and a feature film.

He currently lives in Athens, Greece.
