Russell Rutter is an American comedy writer and the nephew of Robert Smigel, who has hired him to write on Let's Be Real (2020), Night of Too Many Stars (2017), and Night of Too Many Stars: America Comes Together for Autism Programs (2015). He is also the son of Mitchell B. Rutter, founding partner and CEO of Essex Capital Partners, Ltd., a New York-based real estate investment and development company that has acquired, repositioned, and developed more than five million square feet of real estate with a value of more than $3 billion.
