Biography

As directors go, Chris Lucas has one of the sharpest eyes out there shooting today. With a resume of IMDB credits as wide as the world he's traveled throughout filming them over the past two decades, Lucas has cast himself across his multi-talented portfolio as a Director, Writer, Producer, Sound Engineer, Special Effects man and Cinematographer. As an editor, he's worked extensively on the streaming TV show ABOUT THE AUTHORS TV, which airs on TUBI TV and has 2 million viewers and counting.



With a natural gift for capturing the essence of every shot he photographs, Chris no doubt was inspired to first begin developing his visual instincts growing up against the beautiful backdrops of Alaska and the patchwork farmland of Indiana, and honed them even more professionally studying sound engineering and broadcasting from Vincennes University. Heading West from there in the tradition of most great filmmakers, Lucas landed his first film gig working at Rising Lion Productions in Berkeley, California, spending his journeyman years learning the landscape of film sets and production working as a L2 and A2 on many live and filmed productions including The Maxwell Show, MINDTRAP, Reversal and Count Down as an Associate Producer and M.S. Deep Cuts.



Lucas graduated to the role of lead producer on the Television Series MIDLIFE CRISIS and ARE WE DEAD YET?, and his most ambitious project with the full-season order that the web series River City Heroes: Ascendance recently received. His work has been acknowledged with wins for Best Short Comedy Film of the Month Award 2021 for the Short film Chillin' With Merle; the Filmshort Creative Award and Best Short Comedy - Filmshort Creative Award 2022; and as an Official Selection at the Couch Film Festival in 2021; along with recognition as an Official Selection at the Imaginary Mind Film Contest 2022, and the Direct Monthly Online Film Festival in 2021.
