Biography

Oksana Shvets was born on February 10, 1955 in Ukraine. She was an actress, known for Vozvrashchenie Mukhtara (2003), Tayna «Svtatogo Patrika» (2006) and House with Lilies (2013). She died on March 17, 2022 in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Murdered by Putin's Russian terrorist army in a rocket attack on residential buildings in Kyiv on March 17, 2022.

Shvets worked in theater and film for decades and her efforts garnered one of Ukraine's highest honors, the title of which roughly translates as "Honored Artist of Ukraine" - it is also sometimes inartfully expressed in English as "Well-Deserved Artist." Whatever the case, the honor is only bestowed upon those among the country's most accomplished performing artists.

She was a graduate of theater studio at the Ivan Franko Theater, as well as theater department of the I. K. Karpenko-Karyi Kyiv State Institute of Theater Arts.

Since 1980, the actress has acted as part of the actors of the Young Theater, and also starred in feature films.

Oksana Shvets worked at the Ternopil Music and Drama Theater, and then at the Kyiv Theater of Satire.
