Biography

Jesse Bleekemolen (1997) made his first feature film, "Fatal" (2016), at the age of fifteen, which premiered in Tuschinski and was sold to seventy countries. Since then, Jesse has developed various film and documentary productions as a director. At the end of 2020, the release of his Videoland film "Leef" received much attention, in which athlete Bibian Mentel candidly shows how, despite numerous surgeries and radiation treatments, she refuses to let cancer dictate her life. In 2023, Jesse launched the first TikTok-based documentary series, "Geen Hokje Voor Ons" (No Box For Us), in collaboration with VPRO Jeugd. Recently, he made a two-part documentary for KRO-NCRV called "Peter en Erik" about identical twins who were separated after their adoption and met each other by chance at the age of seventeen. In this two-part series, the brothers search for the answer to the question of why they were separated.
