Kris Taylor was born in England in 1976. He has an Honours Degree in Modern History, specialising in the end of the British Empire in South East Asia. He spent 15 Years working on Live Education projects for Schoolchildren as well as spending a few nights a month Treading the Boards of London with Great Actors such as Michael Gambon. Since moving to Ireland he has appeared as Father Augustine in the RTE 1916 Rising documentary 'Ar Son Na Poblachta', as 'James' in the short film 'The Banshee', and has appeared in advertising for Aer Lingus and the Irish National Lottery.
His most challenging role to date was playing a Convicted Child Murderer from Boston in the CBS Reality series 'Trace of Evil'.
Kris is a proud member of Equity Ireland and spent a year on the Executive Committee. His proudest moment was discussing a documentary that he and President Michael D. Higgins both appeared in while a guest at Áras an Uachtaráin during an unveiling of the artwork commemorating 'The Plough And The Stars'.
Not being stopped by the COVID Pandemic, Kris has built a Sound Recording Studio in their home capable of ADR, VO and Music Recording just outside Dublin City Centre.
Kris has also been known to live stream on the YouTube platform. He has streamed twice for 24 hours to raise money for the Irish National Childrens Cancer Charity 'Aoibheann's Pink Tie' and also helped run 2 Viking themed Festivals for the same charity in Ireland. He has worked for the Glastonbury Festival as well as small events for 100 people. Always in a Role that oversaw the Safety and Security of Festival Goers.
In April 2020 Kris lost his only child, Sionnach, to Revesz Syndrome after a year long battle with the degenerative condition. As such, he took time away from Film and Theatre until being asked to appear in the Graduate Short Film 'Thaw My Heart' in 2021.
To say that Kris has led 'A life less ordinary' would be an understatement. Having travelled to SE Asia several times for Refugee Work, 'unplanned overland' trips to E Africa, S America and Europe he is well-travelled and 'at home' in any Society and can speak in 20 Languages to 'get by'. He has met Presidents, Generals and has spent time with the downtrodden and forgotten. Never rushing time with anyone.
Kris has sat with Special Forces and Rebels and found himself with friends in each camp.
