Biography

In 2014, Xavier & Ophelia (a duo with Dave Tough as producer-writer) wrote, produced and donated a song ("The ABC Song") for the Early Childhood & Family Development Community Partnership of the Ozarks, for their educational CD to distribute to all kindergarten-age children across Southwest Missouri.

In December, 2014, Dave Tough recorded Dan Hagen, Leland Sklar, Bob Harsen and Sallycat at Ocean Way Nashville, for the The SallyCat Music Empowerment Project, a musical fundraiser for women's issues, that include obesity and breast cancer.

In 2014, Dave Tough wrote and produced three songs, and donated them to the Songs of Love Foundation, Forest Hills, New York. The Songs of Love Foundation is a national, nonprofit organization, that creates free, personalized, original songs to uplift children and teens facing tough medical, physical or emotional challenges.

In 2016, Dave Tough underwent a successful heart transplant at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee.

Dave Tough wrote a chapter entitled "Virtual Bands: Recording Music Under the Big Top" for "The Oxford Handbook of Music and Virtuality." The book was edited by Sheila Whitely and Shara Rambarran.
