Biography

Eduardo Andrade is a Composer & Director of Sound who has been listed by Forbes as one of the "100 Most Creative Mexicans in the World" and has received the President's Award granted by King Charles III. His work and films have earned recognition for Best Music, Best Sound, and Best Film at various international film festivals.

With a passion for visual storytelling, Andrade began his career specialising in music for Film & TV, composing original scores for more than 30 projects, including feature films, documentaries, short films, animations, advertisements, and live events.

He has won "Best Score - Shorts Mexico 2024" and was nominated for Best Score - Short Film in the Hollywood Music in Media Awards 2024 for "La Piedra Roja". He has also been recognised for "Best Original Score - Los Angeles Movie Awards" for the short film 'El Camino' and "Best Music" in EuroFest for the animation "Leave a Print" which has been screened in over 70 film festivals.

His deep appreciation for the role of sound in shaping cinematic experiences led him to expand beyond musical composition, establishing himself as a Director of Sound and founding Sonderwave Studios; taking on the mission of providing a holistic approach on how sound and music act as core storytelling elements -including dialogue, sound design, original music- and executing within a unified artistic framework.

Eduardo graduated First Class Honours and Distinction from the Royal College of Music as a scholar kindly supported by a Parnassus Award, John Nickson Award, Clifton Parker Award and RCM Award. During the cycle 16/17 he was Principal Conductor of the RCMSU Film Orchestra. He was participant of the 2016 NYU/ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop and attended Berklee College of Music in Valencia for a course in Film and Video Games Scoring in 2015. In 2019 he was part of the BFI Network x BAFTA Crew.

Eduardo's music has been performed in several concert halls, venues, and accompanied films in festivals around the world in countries such as United Kingdom, USA, Italy, Finland, Sweden, Spain, Mexico and Switzerland.

Some of Andrade's recent projects include "Snap Shot" by Cottia Thorowgood starring Royal Ballet ballerina Viola Pantuso and the feature Film "37 KMS" by Rafael Montero.
