Biography

Peter Herold is an award-winning Michigan filmmaker, writer-director, and actor. He began acting in childhood and went on to perform in productions ranging from Shakespeare to contemporary theater before moving into film. His work has earned honors at The Eclipse Awards, the Detroit 48 Hour Film Festival, and the Ypsi 24-Hour Film Shootout, including Best Supporting Actor, Best Feature, and Best Director. He has directed work for Pepsi, Ford, and Toyota, and served as assistant to Casey Silver on Steven Soderbergh’s *No Sudden Move*.

Herold wrote and co-directed his debut feature, *A Wheelchair Story*, with Brian Knight. Slated for release in 2027, the film is a feature-length American fable centered on an abandoned wheelchair. Their narrative feature partnership, Herold & Knight, continues with *The Service Rise*, written by Knight, with both partners set to direct; the film follows a blue-collar doorman on a spiritual odyssey to save his terminally ill daughter. Camp Features, their production company, is completing post-production on *Detroit Lock*, a documentary about an Albanian locksmith in Detroit.
